Kinburn is a compact rural community in the West Carleton ward of the City of Ottawa, west of Carp, just south of Fitzroy Harbour, and about 19 km from Arnprior. It’s known for expansive properties, deep agricultural roots, and a close-knit community, with quick Highway 417 access to Kanata’s jobs.
The character

Rural roots, a memorable name

Kinburn was named in 1855 after the fortress of Kinburn on the Dnieper River, attacked by the British during the Crimean War. It grew up as a farming hamlet in the old Fitzroy Township, later West Carleton, which was amalgamated into the City of Ottawa in 2001. Today it’s a country community of farms, forest and estate properties, anchored by the volunteer-run Kinburn Community Centre and long-standing local businesses like Kinburn Farm Supply.
Homes

Homes in Kinburn

Kinburn is estate-and-farm country: large single-family and custom-built country homes, hobby farms, and acreage properties, many with mature trees, barns, workshops, or equestrian facilities. It’s a small, specialized market, so the right country property doesn’t come up every day. Farms and rural homes are among our specialties.
