Arnprior sits right where the Madawaska River flows into the Ottawa. It pairs a walkable historic downtown and riverfront living with a manageable commute to the capital, which is exactly why so many buyers are choosing it.
The character

A town shaped by two rivers

Founded as a lumber town and named in 1831 after its founder’s home in Scotland, Arnprior grew up at the confluence of the Madawaska and Ottawa rivers. That heritage still shows in the historic downtown and the waterfront that shapes daily life. It’s also home to Gillies Grove, a rare stand of old-growth white pine and Ontario’s tallest tree, protected as a National Historic Site.
