Village & river

A true village core

Pakenham’s heart is its village core beside the Mississippi River, where the one-of-a-kind five-span stone bridge and the 1840 general store anchor a small, friendly community. It’s the kind of place where people know their neighbours and the river is part of everyday life.
Recreation & family

Built for families

Pakenham is built for the outdoors: Mount Pakenham for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in winter; Fulton’s Sugar Bush for maple season; and the river, trails and countryside all year. There’s real four-season recreation right at home.

Getting around

Pakenham is about an hour west of downtown Ottawa and roughly 20 minutes from Almonte and Arnprior for shopping, schools and services. It’s genuinely rural: you trade a longer drive for space, quiet and scenery.

The honest part

This is small-village country living: limited in-village amenities, a real commute to the city, and services concentrated in nearby Almonte. For buyers who want space, character and recreation over convenience, it’s a wonderful trade, but it is a trade.
